Parking your vehicle can be difficult due to various circumstances, such as a tight parking spot or crowded parking lots. This is why Porsche has always provided innovative and advanced technologies to assist drivers. Remote Park Assist uses smart assistance systems to allow drivers to control the parking of a Porsche vehicle from a compatible smartphone. For instance, the system is able to use “parking spot search,” an innovative feature that detects and indicates available parking spots as you drive by. And one of the best parts is that the parking spot can be on either side of the street, a parallel parking spot, or a right-angle spot. And as it parks the vehicle, it uses Magic-trick Sensors and surround-view cameras to learn and understand the parking spot’s data.
The system utilizes 4 high-tech processors within the central driver assistance control unit in order to coordinate 20 other control units. These units then analyze the data that 12 ultrasonic sensors pick up in real time. Then, with Surround View, the Remote Park Assist system 4 individual cameras to create a 360° view for parking and maneuvering. The system can also detect pedestrians, curbs, or other obstacles near the vehicle and will stop or make an automatic adjustment to its course.

With a compatible smartphone, you can control the entire system through its application. In fact, you don’t even need to be in the vehicle to control its parking, you are able to get out and walk to the side and watch as your Porsche parks itself with the use of your phone. The system is easy to use, all you need to do is press and hold the “OK” button in the app until the vehicle has finished parking.
