The 2018 Porsche Macan uses ultra- and super-high-strength steels to build the rigid yet lightweight body structure.  The structure is then designed to disperse front impact forces with longitudinal and transverse parts while reinforcing the sides in case of a side impact.  And then, the cabin is surrounded with airbags in critical areas to help protect occupants in every seat.  In fact, side airbags for the rear compartment and driver and passenger knee airbags are standard in every Macan.

Porsche Stability Management

This is an electronic control system that helps the Macan maintain its stability as it drives, even at sporty performance limits.  This helps increase driving safety by continuously monitoring the driving and strategically applying the brakes at individual wheels when needed.

Porsche Active Safe

This system will regulate your speed to the speed of the vehicle in front of you and will automatically apply your brakes if needed.  The system will detect when you are approaching a vehicle in front of you too fast and will then use an audible and visual warning and brake jolt to prompt you to take action.  And in some cases, the system will use more brake pressure up to the maximum force it’s allowed to use to slow you down.

As well as:

  • Lane Change Assist – optional on Macan
  • Lane Keep Assist – optional on Macan
