Originally name the ‘901’ in 1963, Porsche had to rename it as the ‘911’ as French automatic Peugeot said he had a trademark on “digit-zero-digit” named models.

The Porsche 911 is only manufactured in the Stuttgart, Germany factory, making about 110 Porsche 911 models a day.

There are 16 different versions of the Porsche 911 that Porsche produces.

Launched in 1972, the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 was the leading 911 model with its sporty look and iconic “duck-bill” rear end and spoiler.

During the 1970s, the plan was to replace the 911 with the new 928, though because of employee and market outrage, the Porsche CEO decided to keep the 911 and continue to improve it.
