With many different shapes and forms, the Porsche 911<\/a> continues to be a forerunner for Porsche in the sports car market.\u00a0 And for Porsche\u2019s 70<\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span>\u00a0birthday, a Porsche 911 Speedster\u00a0<\/span><\/span>concept was introduced, which will now go into production starting early 2019.\u00a0 Here\u2019s a quick look at what to expect from the limited-edition Porsche 911 Speedster production model.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Going off the date June 8th<\/span>, 1948, in honor of\u00a0when\u00a0the Porsche 356 \u201cNumber 1\u201d received its operating license, the concept for the Porsche 911 Speedster was presented.\u00a0 Now, getting ready for its production, there will be only 1,948 models built starting early next year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 911 Speedster is based on the Porsche 991 range and features Guards Red paint like the 1988 Porsche 911 Speedster that was part of the G-Model lineup.\u00a0 It will also be the first to offer the new Heritage Design Packages for more personalization.\u00a0 Along with the 21-inch center lock wheels with cross-spoke design that is based\u00a0off of\u00a0Porsche racing cars, the 911 Speedster features two \u201cTalbot\u201d shaped exterior mirrors and fuel tank cap in black-chrome and platinum.\u00a0 The interior is surfaced in partly perforated black leather with red highlights.\u00a0 And the body is based on the popular Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet with a lightweight carbon fiber\u00a0composite front and rear bonnet and 911 GT3 chassis.\u00a0 Then, the exhaust system is equipped with titanium tailpipes and the speedster will be powered by a 500-horsepower, naturally-aspirated flat-six engine with a\u00a0manually\u00a0operated six-speed gearbox.<\/p>\n
